Work metadata

Rich metadata makes your catalogue searchable and useful. The most important fields are:

  • Title — the name of the piece. Required.
  • Composer — who wrote it. Required.
  • Instrumentation — the forces required (e.g. string quartet, SATB).
  • Duration — approximate performance length.
  • Catalogue / opus number — identifiers such as Op. 27 or BWV 1007.
Consistent instrumentation wording makes filtering far more effective when your catalogue grows. Pick a convention and stick to it.

You can fill these in when you create a work or update them later by editing the work.
